The Seeley Caveat!

(November 7, 2007)

Hello...

My father has four beautiful sisters. Each one is talented in many different areas of life, be it teaching, finance, healthcare, etc. They happen to be good cooks, as well. And everytime our families get together and break bread, the Seeley Caveat surfaces: "Oh, it's a new recipe so I'm not sure how good it is;" "it may have burnt a little;" "I usually use fresh ingredients but didn't have time..."

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So why bring this up? Well, I am in the middle of writing our adoption story for our son Ray and I'm employing the Seeley Caveat - now.

Just to confirm, "in the middle" means it is not complete, on a number of levels; however, with the interest drawn from traveling to bring Ray home, it seems appropriate to share what is written thus far.

Three more points apply:

First, with the exception of the "Amazing Grace" entry at the end, it's only written through July, just a month after we committed to Ray. So that gap (July through Nov) needs to be filled; plus, the Good Lord knows...our journey is just beginning. So there will be tons more to write.

Second, not only is the story not finished, it's in pre(historic)-draft condition. Life is busy, so I haven't proof read anything. Certain parts don't flow properly because items are missing; sections will be added, sections will be deleted; paragraphs will be modified; sentences shifted; and grammar corrected. I'm sure I could here about many mistakes from you (just like the one their, if you picked it up...hey, there's another one!).

Third, the story is actually a story, so it has some length to it, and I've tried to post them in order (under section headings). Either way, you are under no obligation to actually read the darn thing.

With those weak points, we'll move on. Thanks for reading, thanks for caring.
